Following in the footsteps of the Bramley family in Munich, this week the Smith family completed in different length races in Amsterdam.
Thirteen year old Molly ran the 8K race in a superb 31:08 finishing 2nd female 27th overall out of 4,709.
Not to be outdone 16-year-old Jake ran the half marathon in an unbelievable 1 hour 12 mins finishing 9th out of 14,251.
Dad Tony was pleased to complete the full marathon in less than 4 hours 30 min.
Exeter’s Great West Run has changed substantially over its 30 year existence and has moved from a spring event to the Autumn.
Many people new to running use it as their first Half Marathon and that was certainly true of the AVR contingent.
The first AVR home was Jamie Trewick 59th out of 2,663 in 1:27:50.
Shaun Denslow played 90 mins of football on Saturday but still managed to finish in 1:47:09, 570th.
